Angelina
Jolie
To bring more ceks appeal to Jolie's tough character, hairstylist Colin
Jamison went for a looser look in the sequel. "We wanted to bring more
femininity to Lara Croft," he says. But he still had to adhere to the
already created Croft in cyberspace. "This style is unique to the
character, but Angelina wanted it a bit more delicate in a casual sort of
way," he says. Jolie arrived each day with her hair washed and conditioned
with KMS Silker shampoo and leave-in treatment. "It doesn't make the hair
too soft but still protects it and gives it a silky finish," Jamison says.
Then he applied a dollop of KMS Hair Stay sculpting lotion to the roots of
her dry hair, which helped prevent loose ends. After braiding and twisting
three cornrows near her forehead, he pulled all of the hair up into a high
ponytail, "always a flattering do for any woman," he says. He put a few
more sparse braids throughout her long, thick, brunet mane and secured the
ceksy upsweep with KMS Max Hold spray. A girl's got to keep her hair off
her face when she's kicking butt.

The good girl makes good again.
Forget Jennifer Aniston's much copied Rachel hairstyle and perfect
highlights on Friends. To play Grace, a day-care worker in blue-collar
Buffalo, N.Y., and loyal girlfriend to Jim Carrey's God-endowed
"almighty" Bruce, Aniston got yet another beauty make-under. "The look
of this character is very different from the way people see her as
Jennifer Aniston Pitt," says her longtime hairstylist, Chris McMillan.
Makeup artist Valli O’Reilly explains, "My goal was to enhance her skin.
It's not a no-makeup look; Grace is not a farm wife, but she is an
everyday, fresh-faced Breck girl." Even with the Hollywood glamour toned
down a notch, Aniston still shines while Carrey yuks it up in this funny
romp.

Elizabeth Hurley
"Elizabeth loves her skin to
feel moist," says makeup artist and hairstylist Tracey Lee. So she used
Estée Lauder Lightweight Re-Nutriv Creme before applyng Estée Lauder
Lucidity foundation in Outdoor Beige. Next she dusted on Estée Lauder So
Ingenious powder. Last, she applied Estée Lauder Pink Sand powder blush
on cheeks. "Elizabeth's favorite makeup item is blush," says Lee. "She
thinks she looks frighteningly corpselike without it!". Lee simply ran
Estée Lauder Soft Brown eye pencil along lash lines, then smudged it
with a brush. She added a touch of Estée Lauder Color Intensity eye
shadow in Hazelnut on lid creases and finished with Estée Lauder
Illusionist mascara in black. Lee used Estée Lauder Crystal Baby
lipstick, then topped lips with Vaseline. To add lift to Hurley's fine
strands, Lee used "gallons" of Phytologie Phytovolume Actif spray on
damp roots before blow-drying hair straight with a round brush. Then she
worked Phytologie Phyto 7 cream into ends to smooth them out. For hold,
she spritzed hair with L'Oréal Elnett hairspray (available only in the
U.K.; for a similar effect try L'Oréal Studio Line Fast Forward
hairspray).

"Shania's got dark green eyes, really
wonderful color," says Martin. "But she had some allergy problems, so
they were a bit teary," which, when mixed with bright lights and a wind
machine, wreaked havoc with the eye makeup. "One day on the way to the
shoot I came up with the idea of using waterproof mascara as both
mascara and shadow." She used the back of her hand as a palette and took
"gobs" of Bourjois Aqua Volume mascara in black and quickly brushed it
on lids "because that stuff dries quickly" and into the crease,
extending it just beyond the sides of the eyes to create a wing effect.
She then applied false lashes to give a feathered look and topped them
with MAC Pro Lash Colour in Periwink-wink to make them blue black. She
lined lips with Stripdown pencil, applied Lipglass in Lust in the
center, and mixed Oyster Girl and Chai elsewhere on the lips

Renee Zellweger
"This was the most fun I ever had working on a movie," says costume
designer Daniel Orlandi. And the clothes reflect that. Orlandi and a
crew of craftspeople worked for two weeks to design a wardrobe for
Zellweger that was, in his words, "an homage to the Doris Day-Rock
Hudson comedies of the early sixties." "It was all about the clothes,"
he says. "Everything is modern—matching hats, gloves and shoes, a sleek
silhouette." Rather than rely on vintage pieces, he designed looks that
were reminiscent of the Givenchy ensembles worn by Audrey Hepburn, such
as the plaid suit shown here (worn with a Patricia Underwood hat).
Zellweger wears mostly evening gowns and cocktail dresses with big
Balenciaga-style capes in the movie, none of which are seen twice. And
the icing on the cake? Custom-made Manolo Blahniks for every outfit.

"I love smoky eyes," Presley says. Makeup artist Mathu Anderson used MAC
Smolder eye kohl on both upper and lower lash lines and inside the lids,
extending past the corners, to get the look. "Lisa Marie's eyes have a
sleepy kind of quality—I guess you'd call them bedroom eyes," says
Anderson. "And she's got an interesting bridge of her nose and forehead,
powerful for a woman. Her face is almost like a lioness. She can take a
lot of makeup." For the lips Anderson used MAC Spice lip pencil to line
them, then applied MAC Lipglass Stain in Beta Brown.
